Ash Canyon - June 2, 2023
After waiting more than a year hoping to see the Montezuma Quail, then accidentally encountering a covey in Miller Canyon, a pair of them began visiting Ash Canyon Bird Sanctuary. On this day, I was there early and alone when a pair arrived and began feeding directly in front of me. They posed nicely for twenty minutes or so, then wandered off to enjoy the day. Needless to say, I took far too many photos of the darling pair.
Also on this day, the pack rat that lives in a wood pile was bold enough to emerge in daylight.
