I photographed so many species on this visit that I've decided to break this update into two parts. Hopefully, this will avoid giving you "birdie overload", and Part 2 will follow in a couple days. We continue to see new species arriving along with the departure of some, while the regulars are here year-round. It's always interesting to see which birds have shown up. On this visit, I saw the Blue Grosbeak for the first time this year, as well as the Brown-crested Flycatcher. As a bonus, the Summer Tanager was still present and posed better than last week. Bird photography requires camera settings that lead to a very narrow depth of focus, sometimes resulting in a bird being only partially in focus. It's unusual to get two birds in a frame that are both in focus. While trying to get two birds together, I was lucky to include a third without even trying.
