Ash Canyon - February 29 & March 1, 2024
It was a beautiful morning as I approached the snow-capped Miller and Carr Peaks, the tallest mountains in the Huachuca Range. The setting moon was still high in the sky. Bird-wise, it was a particularly slow day because hawks kept flying through the canyon, frightening the smaller birds away. However, it all paid off when a Cooper's Hawk landed on a branch only twenty-five feet from me, giving me the best photos ever of that species.
